Hillwood Estate
This estate was owned by Marjorie Post - daughter of C.W. Post, the inventor of Post cereals! She collected French and Russian art and eventually turned her mansion and gardens into a museum. It's less than a 15 minute walk from where we live!

3 Year Anniversary!
Dylan and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary on July 25th with a rainbow chip cake specially brought over by my mom and dad. Of our three years of marriage, we've spent two of them in Africa! How cool is that?? =)
Some Tsumeb shots...
2nd Anniversary - Tin Caps Game
We celebrated our second anniversary by going to a ball game! It was a good game, although we lost by one point in the end. We had authentic ball park hot dogs, cheered for the home team, and enjoyed the fireworks show at the end!
Felucca Ride
We went out on the Nile to celebrate graduation, Peace Corps, and the end of a good year.
March
Finishing the 2000 piece puzzle that barely fit on our table!

Wadi Digla
For those of you who don't know, the Costers are a very athletic family. I just try to keep up! Wadi Digla, a dried up riverbed, is one of the places we go running. It's a little different from the Prairie Path we used to run on in Illinois!
Outdoor shots
Here we have Dylan standing in front of the Coster car which is parked in front of our apartment building! We live on the 5th floor, which would actually be the 6th floor by American numbering (the ground floor here is zero). We go up and down a LOT of stairs everyday.
This is a typical road here in Maadi. Note the cars parked on both sides - and this is still a two way street!
Can you spot the street sign? No wonder it's so hard to find anything here! This street sign is pretty typical - it is in the middle of a roundabout surrounded by trees and bushes. At least there is a street sign, right?
Around the House
The current residents of the Coster household - Dylan, Christiy, Abby, and Ann - next to our lovely welcome sign. =)
This is the kitchen - almost right in front of you as you walk in the door.
If you were to turn left after you enter, you'd go through double swinging doors into a big sitting room. This is where we spend most of our time during the day, playing games, reading, studying, etc. (Current picture featuring Abby)
The other side of the sitting room. This big window looks out on the rooftops around us and lets in the constant sunshine (hence the bad lighting for this photo...). =) Current picture features Dylan.
Our lovely bedroom - Generously loaned to us by Dan and Ann! =)
The hall/TV room as seen from our bedroom door. At the far end you can see the double doors into the sitting room (the entrance would be just to the left of those). We use the TV mainly for watching movies and playing on the Wii, so if we're not in the sitting room we're probably here. =)
What we're seeing...
This is the view out of our living room window. I think all the buildings you can see are other apartment buildings (we're on the 5th floor of our building). I've been surprised at the number of trees I see along the streets and in the midans (roundabouts). They make a good contrast to all the brown buildings.
The Costers in Question
Nothing from Egypt yet, but this one's from our First Anniversary a couple weeks ago! Yay!
