We returned about a week ago from our long awaited COS conference. At the conference we recapped our last two years as a group - sharing positives and negatives and funny stories. We also had sessions on useful things like, updating your resume, readjusting, applying to grad school, etc. There's a lot of paperwork involved in finishing our service so we got a look at that too!
It was great to see everyone and exciting (albeit a bit intimidating) to consider all the options for our future after this year. The downside is, after all that we still have four months of service to go! Dylan and I plan to stay till the end of Term 3 so we can mark our kids' exams before we go. That means we'll be leaving Namibia the first week of December. Still a whole term of teaching to go!
(For those who have trouble keeping track of our school year, we're finishing term two now - the kids are taking exams and will finish on August 13th. Then we have a brief two week break and go back for term three in the first week of September.)
We're excited about leaving, but still have a lot to focus on here first.
Payer Requests:
- that we wouldn't get "senioritis" and slack off in our jobs/relationships
- that we would find time and direction to apply to grad school programs we could both attend in the same city
